Well, the Laker’s are on a 3 game skid and have lost 4 of their last 5 games after losing to King James and the Cavs on Sunday. The injured Lakers (playing without Trevor Ariza, Chris Mihm, and most importantly Andrew Bynum) lost a nail biter in the closing seconds at Staples Center 98-95. In a game that was delayed 12 minutes due to water drenched clothes dripping onto the baseline from a catwalk above, the Kobe v LeBron duel lived up to expectations. Both showed the intensity that you would expect from the best players in the NBA down to the last seconds. Current league scoring leader LeBron posting 41 points 9 rebs, while Kobe put up 33 points 9 rebs and 6 assts. With 10 seconds left in the game Ronny Turiaf inbounded the ball to Kobe who was immediately double teamed. Kobe then swung the ball to a open Luke Walton on the right side; however, Walton seemed to have trouble collecting the ball and therefore was unable to get a shot off so he passed the ball to Derek Fisher at the top as time expired! That’s right, they didn’t even get a shot off!!!
This is the catch-22 that is Kobe’s world… If he shoots he is selfish, if he passes people wonder why he didn’t shoot! Kobe has come out this year and shown that he is more than willing trust his teammates and play “team ball”, but in situations like this can you really blame him for the nights he feels like casting off 35 shots?!

I agree that sometimes people are harsh on Kobe… but most of the time he deserves it! He’s been selfish since the day he came out the womb!

Seriously, who would have thought that after all the preseason madness that Kobe could still take this team to #1 in the west (last week)? This guys deserves the MVP this year cause he’s paid his dues! We’re not talking about Dominique Wilkins here… Kobe Bryant is/will go down as one of the best that’s ever done it, and it’d be a crime for him not to win atleast one, if not more, MVP’s.
